Review: L'Oréal Voluminous Power 24H Mascara

Happy monday!! (:
..oh wait, it's Monday? That means I'm already late for my blog post. Sorry!!

So, first things first, L'Oréal is my favorite drugstore brand. I've loved every product I've tried from this brand and they never fail to impress me. As a fan of the L'Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes, when I heard they came out with a similar mascara that lasts all day, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! And so I did.

This mascara retails for CAD$9.98 at wal-mart. Is it worth the [low, affordable] price? Absolutely!

I thought this mascara would have the exact same effect on my lashes as the voluminous million lashes mascara, but, to my surprise, I found it is actually better than my previous favorite mascara. As promised, it gives LOTS of volume, but it also lengthens the lashes all at once. It also lasts all day without flaking or smearing, even if you cry. Not that I've been crying, but my eyes tend to get watery for no reason, and this mascara did not smudge on my teary eyes.

The only down side to this product is that, if not carefully applied, it can get clumpy. However, if you take the time to really comb it through your lashes, you can manage to get rid of the clumps.

Now, this wouldn't be a real review without pictures, so, here are some before/after shots:

my lashes before applying mascara

aaaand, tadaaa! my lashes after applying mascara.
(none on the bottom  lashes)

As you can see from this photo, my lashes already have a natural curl, so I didn't bother to curl my lashes, since this mascara actually does this step for me. However, if  you don't have naturally curly lashes, you might need to curl yours.

All in all, this mascara adds drama and attention to the lashes.

And then I decided to compare the brush, so here is a shot that compares a few of my favorite mascara brushes :

The orange wand is Rimmel's Scandaleyes mascara. I love this one because the brush is HUGE.

The black wand is the L'Oréal Voluminous Power 24H mascara (the one reviewed in this post)

And, last but not least, the gold wand is L'Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara (the bristles are plastic, unlike the other 2 brushes).

I would've compared it to the CoverGirl lashblast mascara wand but I threw mine away because I hate that brush. I don't like the short, plastic bristles at all, I much prefer these types of bristles.

Do I recommend this mascara to everyone? YES! You will love this mascara! It is affordable, effective, and it lasts all day and night. How could you go wrong with that?

If you loved this post and would like to see more, don't be shy and join my blog. I will be back with a new post on Wednesday.

Until then, have a nice day, and never stop dreaming (:

  1. Great review :)
That mascara made your lashes look AMAZING so I'd be really tempted to buy that, I need a new drugstore mascara anyways and I although I've heard great things about the Million Lashes, I hate the plasticy bristles.

    1. thank you so much!!^^
but yeah, after a month of using it, i think i still prefer million lashes because it dispenses less products but still looks gorgeous! and the bristles are actually not that bad. in my opinion they're better than the covergirl lashblast ones. and i think the million lashes is a bit cheaper, but i could be wrong.
